Cybersecurity: As the Digital World Expands Massively, We Have to Secure It!

Anytime a new technology is deployed in the market in 2023…and we assume beyond…it must be secured. The risks in the present world are too great. Think about vehicles today. Many of them are getting closer and closer to supercomputers on wheels. If there were ways for nefarious actors to access automobile systems, this could do anything from create dangerous driving conditions to be extremely annoying for individual car owners. If people are using other systems that are health-related, it is important to secure that data and those functions. The key thing is that cybersecurity has to advance alongside anything else that is advancing in technology. In a sense, as we think about the universe of thematic funds, there are very few of them that do not intersect at all with cybersecurity. In a course like this, we have to balance the discussion between what cybersecurity is, what certain specific firms are doing, the fundamentals of growth and the market opportunity, as well as also putting the current performance into context.

The Canterbury Law Group reports that 45 percent of first marriages will end in divorce, as will 60 percent of second marriages. This presentation will provide actionable insights, current divorce statistics, and guidance on best practices to help attorneys effectively manage divorce cases and avoid common legal challenges. Settlements

This segment will cover both the structuring of settlements and the management of funds once received. Attorneys and clients may choose between a structured settlement, a lump sum, or a combination of both, and we will review the benefits and potential drawbacks of each approach. A thorough understanding of different financial advisory arrangements and their associated costs is critical in making informed decisions that serve clients' best interests, both practically and from a fiduciary standpoint. Often, what appears to be the lowest-cost option may not be the most suitable or cost-effective when all factors are considered. The presentation will also compare and evaluate various compensation models, including fee-based, commission-based, hybrid, and internal models. Additionally, we will discuss new fee-splitting arrangements between advisors and attorneys. As always, time will be reserved for participant questions.
